Aokumo Selected for Two JETRO GSAP 2026 Tracks

Aokumo Inc. has been selected for two tracks in the 2026 Global Startup Acceleration Program (GSAP), organized by JETRO in coordination with Japan’s Cabinet Office.
JETRO selected 62 startups from across Japan for this year’s program. Aokumo was one of a small number of companies selected for two tracks: the Enterprise B2B track with Alchemist Accelerator and the newly established AI-CTO track with Entrepreneurs Roundtable Accelerator (ERA).
Since its launch in 2021, GSAP has supported the global expansion of more than 500 Japanese startups.
Enterprise B2B with Alchemist Accelerator
Alchemist Accelerator specializes in early-stage enterprise startups. Companies participating in its programs have collectively raised more than $1.4 billion.
The GSAP Enterprise B2B track covers three stages of US expansion:
Understanding the US market
Validating the product through proofs of concept
Developing customers and commercial opportunities
Aokumo will begin with the US market-understanding phase, using the program to refine our positioning and engage platform engineering, security, and technology leaders at regulated US enterprises.
Our initial focus is financial services, where AI agents must operate within strict requirements for authorization, accountability, recovery, and audit evidence.
AI-CTO with ERA
The AI-CTO track is new to GSAP in 2026 and is delivered with Entrepreneurs Roundtable Accelerator, a New York-based accelerator that has invested in more than 400 companies and built a network of over 1,000 mentors.
The program is designed around a direct question:
Can this architecture meet the requirements of the US enterprise market?
Its technical focus includes model selection, proprietary and open-source model trade-offs, RAG and agent architecture, and the optimization of inference cost, latency, reliability, and security.
For Aokumo, this provides an opportunity to test and strengthen the architecture behind our governed execution platform against the expectations of US enterprise buyers.
Why the US, and why now
Enterprises are rapidly experimenting with AI agents, but moving those agents into production remains difficult.
The challenge is not only model capability. Production environments require an execution layer where policies, approvals, rollback, and audit evidence are built into every action.
High-risk operations must receive explicit human approval. Pre-authorized, lower-risk actions should be able to execute autonomously within clearly defined boundaries. Every action must remain traceable and recoverable.
This problem is not unique to Japan. US enterprises in financial services and other regulated industries face the same gap between a successful proof of concept and approved production deployment.
Aokumo brings deep experience in Japanese financial services, cloud infrastructure, Kubernetes, and regulated IT operations. Through GSAP, we will validate that experience in the US market, strengthen the product, and build relationships with prospective customers and partners.
Being selected for both the business and technical tracks gives us exactly the combination we need: market validation through Alchemist and architectural validation through ERA.
We are grateful to JETRO, Japan’s Cabinet Office, Alchemist Accelerator, ERA, and everyone involved in the selection and program delivery.
This is an important step in Aokumo’s expansion beyond Japan, and in our mission to make enterprise AI agents safe enough to execute real work in production.
